Meet Miss Colorado High School 2010
Annika Sandberg

It is this feeling of being blessed that makes me want to give back.  I know I live an amazing life and it would be so selfish of me not to give back to those around me when I can.  From an
In 1979, Mother Teresa was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.  When asked what can we do to promote world peace, she answered, "Go home and love your family."

I am a Colorado girl through and through, born in Vail and have lived here my entire life.  I am Annika Sandberg and I am honored to be Miss Colorado High School America 2010.

Growing up in Colorado has been incredible.  I
wake up every morning and see majestic
mountains out my bedroom window.  My heart
belongs to Colorado and I have yet to find a
square foot in this state that isn't breath taking.
Every day I think about how fortunate I am to
live here.

My family and my friends mean everything to me.  My best friends Rose, Will, and Christina are there for me no matter what and I know I can always count on them.  I'm not sure what I did to deserve these three amazing people in my life.  As the four of us are waiting for important college decisions, we know that we will always love and support each other even if we are at schools in different parts of the country.

My parents have taught me so many important things in life.  I can't believe how lucky I am to have them supporting me every step of the way.  They even supported me this summer when I showed up unexpectedly with a Pomeranian puppy.  I came home from a vacation with her even after my parents said no.  Don't worry, Piper is now a major part of our family and the love of my life.  At first my parents weren't happy
about the situation, but they quickly began to understand why I
had to have her.  It was just one more testament to the fact they
will always love me and back me up.
My future goal is to attend a pre-med program in hopes of having a career in a sports related field. During high school, I suffered injuries to my ankle and knee and have gone through extensive rehab. Through my career, I hope to teach young athletes how to prevent such injuries from occurring.

I am looking forward to representing my beautiful home State of Colorado at the Miss High School America Pageant in Branson, Missouri, and know that I am going to continue to make new friends who will enrich my life even more.

When my reign comes to an end, I will be so honored to crown my successor and pass on this amazing opportunity to her... and who knows it could be YOU! ...but first you have to enter! I highly encourage you do, so you can also begin a year of Deams just as I have!

Warmly,
Annika,

early age,my parents have taught me the value of volunteering and helping my community.  I strive to participate in volunteer work whenever the opportunity arises.  One of my goals is to continue to do what I can to be a positive role model for younger children.  Peer pressure can change lives in an instant and it is important for younger kids to know that they do not have to succumb to it.
